Florid and ornate are two good words to describe this metal bed. Large 4" posts are topped with massive casted finials and the 66'' high headboard is adorned with a large center casting. Even the Gilded Slate finish is elaborate - it is a black base, with a hand-applied coat of mottled translucent paint - which gives it a beautiful hue, highlighted with gleaming gold.
