Drapery Rod Information

When installed, there will be minor visible seams where the rod sections meet. For adjustable rods the seams will fall at 45”, 81”, and 117” from the finial.

The lip (where the last section of rod fits into the other section of the rod, allowing the rod to telescope to the size needed) will be located at 27” for small rods, 45” for medium rods, 81” for large rods, and 117” for extra large rods.

The interconnecting sections, used for LG and XL sizes, offer easy handling and lessen freight charges by shipment with UPS. For sizes beyond the XL size, simply order extra extension tubes and brackets which also ship UPS. For any order, please specify the bracket projection so the proper bracket will be packed with your rod. Projections of 1 1/2", 3”, and 6” are available. Standard 3” brackets are used for most window treatments. Heavy duty brackets may be ordered separately as an upgrade for use with extra heavy drapes on the adjustable rods.

When using rings, we recommend the additional purchase of a Rod-Sleeve to eliminate the “lip” of an adjustable rod. The “lip” will interfere with the smooth operation of rings on the rod. Of course, for tab tops, rod pockets or stationary side panels using rings, sleeves are not necessary as the lip may often be covered by the window treatment. Sleeves fit over the adjustable smaller diameter section of rod and are cut to the exact size needed, either at the job site by the installer or at our factory when ordered for an extra charge. After sleeves are installed, the rod will have a uniform diameter from finial to finial and will not have a “lip”.

Size range of rod is rod length only and does not include finial.
