| | | Drapery Rod Information - Custom
| With our custom rod program, you may order the rod tailored to your job needs. We offer five rod configurations in the Custom Rod program:
Custom Straight Rod with a Finial on each end
This rod is sized to your exact length (in inter connecting sections) and will have a uniform rod diameter from finial to finial, without the "lip" of an adjustable rod. Also, any seams may be specified (maximum of 72" for all rod diameters) rather than pre-determined as with the adjustable rod. No rod sleeves are needed, as the rod does not have a lip. (Perfect for sliding rings.) Also, extra rod extensions are not needed for rods over 154" as with adjustable rods, as the rods can be any length.
Custom Straight Rod with a Finial on one end only
Specify left or right finial. The opposite side with no finial will be capped to finish the hollow rod end. This may even be less expensive than an adjustable rod!
Custom Swing Arm Rod
This rod is made to size up to 40" long. These are heavy-duty swing arms with the same material used as our other rods.
Custom Corner Rod
This rod is made to your size and joined together by a mitered and welded right angle comer section. Optionally, our patent-pending flexible coil connector may be specified for comer angles other than 90 degrees.
Custom Bay Window Rod
This rod is made to your size and joined in the comers with our patent-pending coil connectors for easy and quick installation. We do the math for angles and bracket projections and rod diameters. Just give us the easy physical wall measurements described below! Now decorative metal rods for bay windows are easier than wood!
Every custom rod will have the finials welded to each end, (but with one finial made removable to allow the drape or rings to slip on) and comes in interconnecting sections for easy handling and to minimize shipping charges (all ship regular UPS). All rods will be the same diameter for the length specified. Rods will have minor visible seams where interconnected, but no lips as with an adjustable rod. We locate seams at bracket locations to further minimize their appearance, unlike adjustable rods. Also, you may specify the seam location preferences (up to 72" for all rod diameters) for spacing between seams. We will make every effort to accommodate your request. Otherwise, seams will be equally spaced between brackets up to 72" apart. We allow 1-1/2" from the center of the outer bracket to the base of the finials. Be sure to order enough brackets to support the rod.
Brackets are ordered separately and you select the type of mounting system (wall, ceiling or inside). For wall brackets, available projections are: 1-1/2",3" or 6". You may choose regular strength brackets, heavy-duty brackets or double rod brackets. We also offer inside mount brackets and ceiling mount brackets.
MEASURE TIP: To determine the recommended/guideline number of brackets just divide the length of each wall area by 72", always round up and add 1. For example, a 120" window would be 120/72, or 1.66, which would be 2. Then add 1 for a total of 3 brackets. For light fabrics or valances, of course, you may use fewer brackets, but generally do not span more than 72" with¬out a center support. For heavy fabrics, use our heavy-duty brackets with at least the guideline number of brackets. Using the guideline number of brackets also hides all rod seams.
