Recycled copper is melted and formed in a thin sheet, then stretched across the wood and hammered. The copper sheets are then attached to a base of MDF. The dark copper then has a dark brown finish applied evenly to the top. Both styles of copper tops are coated with 2-3 coats of wax to provide a nice shine and protective coating. Please note that variation in copper color is normal as this is an organic material. Coasters or placemats are recommended. Copper tops are @ 2" thick.

Recycled zinc is melted and formed in a thin sheet, then stretched across the wood and hammered. Zinc sheets are then nailed down to an MDF base with a distinctive detailed pattern. An acid wash is applied for a raw look and tops are coated with 2-3 coats of wax to provide a nice shine and protective coating. All Zinc tops over 36 inches will have a row of nail brads holding multiple pieces. This is because Zinc is very difficult and dangerous to weld. Unlike copper tops. zinc is more fragile and requires great skill to apply smoothly. Coasters or placemats are recommended. Zinc tops are @ 2" thick.
