Drapery Ring Sizes

Choosing the correct ring size ensures smooth movement along the curtain rod and proper spacing for your drapery panels.

2" Drapery Ring
Outside diameter: 2"
Inside diameter: 1-1/2"

3" Drapery Ring
Outside diameter: 3"
Inside diameter: 2-5/8"

4" Drapery Ring
Outside diameter: 4"
Inside diameter: 3-5/8"

The ring size should be selected based on the diameter of your curtain rod and the style of drapery you prefer.

How Many Drapery Rings Do You Need?

A common guideline is to use approximately seven rings for every 48–54 inches of fabric width.

For a looser, more relaxed drapery appearance, you may choose to use four to five rings per panel.

Recommended Ring Pairings

• 2" drapery rings are recommended for most rods.
• Oversized rings may also be paired with 1-3/8", 2", and 3" wooden curtain rods for a more dramatic decorative look.

Installation Tip

For adjustable curtain rods, installing a rod sleeve over the adjustable section helps eliminate the visible "lip" where the rods meet. This creates a cleaner, more custom appearance with a uniform rod diameter.

Custom curtain rods typically do not require sleeves because they are manufactured with a consistent diameter from end to end.

Drapery Rings with Eyelets

Eyelet-style rings are one of the most popular options for attaching curtains to rods. Each ring is formed from solid steel and features a small fused eyelet positioned at a right angle beneath the ring.

Drapery panels can be attached using standard drapery hooks (not included) or sewn directly onto the eyelet for a clean and tailored installation.
