Moonlit Mermaid Wall Art

Graceful and timeless, this hand-chiseled mermaid curves in a moonlit arc, her flowing hair and textured tail etched with exquisite detail. Crafted by Haitian artisans from recycled steel oil drums, each piece carries the quiet poetry of the sea and the artistry of a storied tradition.

The sea has long been a keeper of myths — tales of sirens, whispers of moonlit waters, and the quiet shimmer of mermaids drifting between currents. The Moonlit Mermaid Wall Art captures that enchantment, her figure carved in a sweeping crescent that seems to cradle the very tide itself.

Handmade in Haiti from reclaimed steel oil drums, this piece honors a craft that first emerged in the late 1950s and continues today through generations of artisans. Measuring approximately 23" x 23", the sculpture reveals meticulous detailing - from scalloped textures across the tail to the flowing lines of hair - that makes each work of art entirely unique. Designed to bring a touch of coastal romance to both indoor and outdoor spaces, this mermaid invites wonder wherever she swims.

The Moonlit Mermaid Wall Art shines as the centerpiece of a coastal-inspired gallery wall, surrounded by woven textures, driftwood accents, and shells gathered from sandy shores. Place her in a light-filled sunroom where she can reflect natural light, or let her grace an outdoor patio wall, framed by climbing jasmine or ivy for a touch of fairytale romance.

For an eclectic twist, pair her with bold ocean-hued textiles, hand-thrown ceramics, and vintage lanterns - an ode to sea voyages and faraway harbors. Whether hung alone or alongside her oceanic counterpart, the Tidal Feast Octopus, she transforms any space into a story told in waves and whispers.

Designs are chalked out on a flattened steel oil drum and then cut out by hand with a mallet and chisel. Unpainted pieces are made to be used inside or outside. Outside they will eventually begin to turn a beautiful patina. Should you prefer the original finish, you can spray it with a clear gloss varnish every 18-24 months. We recommend Krylon Crystal Clear spray - it will also remove scratches. This can be found in any art store or hardware store.

Painted pieces should be used indoors only.
