There is something wonderfully old-world about a nutcracker standing sentry, and this pair takes the tradition to new heights. Each soldier is cut from metal and painted by hand, gold crown gleaming, white beard neatly curled and coat buttoned to the chin, then set atop a natural timber post whose grain and knots give every guard his own rugged character.
Station them on either side of the front door, the hearth or the Christmas tree, where at 48" and 40" tall they hold their own beside even the grandest garland, or welcome them into a growing nutcracker collection as its tallest, proudest members.

Suggested uses: Flank your front door or a covered porch, stand guard on either side of the fireplace, frame the Christmas tree, or anchor the ends of a holiday buffet or entry hall.
Styling ideas:
- Place one on each side of a doorway or mantel for a symmetrical, welcoming look. The two heights add interest without looking mismatched.
- Wrap the base of each post with a small wreath, garland or a bow in plaid or velvet ribbon.
- Group them with a few wrapped gift boxes and a twig or bottle-brush tree for a toy-shop vignette.
- Mix them in with smaller tabletop nutcrackers to build a nutcracker army that steps down in height.
- Uplight them at night with a small spotlight so the painted details and gold crowns shine.
Good to know: Each nutcracker is hand painted and the posts are natural wood, so color, grain and texture vary slightly from set to set. The round bases keep them steady and upright.
